MP Mohammed Ammar told Assabeh newspaper that he had decided to relinquish the Democratic bloc’s presidency in parliament, explaining the decision on family grounds requiring him to stay abroad.
He said he will offer his resignation to the House speaker in the following days, making it known that MP Noomen Eleuch will succeed him. The bloc will be chaired by a member of the Echaab Movement at the start of the next parliamentary year, he added.
