Tunisia – Moncef Marzouki: “Saïed’s dismissal will come from the streets”

Speaking on Euronews, the former interim President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki declared on Friday, December 17 that Tunisia’s future will be achieved with the return of legitimacy and the return of sovereignty to the people. “The Tunisian people who have taken to the roads today will restore the balance and bring the nation back on the right route,” he said.
The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed has not kept his pledge, and his dismissal will come from the streets ”. “Many Tunisians will take to the streets to request his dismissal and an end to the coup,” he said.
Remarking on the last speech of the Head of State, and his decision to continue to suspend the parliament until the organization of new legislative elections, the former provisional president deemed that this decision is “an extension of the coup d ‘ State”. “Freezing the activity of parliament means carrying together powers in the hands of one person, which is a flagrant breach of the Constitution,” he concluded.
