Former interim president Moncef Marzouki pointed out that he blocked the Tunisian youth from departing to Syria.
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Tunisian revolution, Mr Marzouki expressed on the “rumours” spread against him, blaming him of transferring young Tunisians to Syria. “Rather, I stopped our young people from going to Syria,” he said.
As for the severance of diplomatic relationships with Syria, Marzouki said he did not regret his support for the Syrian revolution. “This is the most honourable and best decision I have made and I will never regret it,” he added.
