Tunisia-Nabil Karoui is a political prisoner, says Qalb Tounes

Speaking to Shems FM,Qalb Tounes MP  Iyadh Elloumi said that Nabil Karoui is a “political prisoner”.

Elloumi revealed that his party deems Nabil Karoui as “a political prisoner” provided that he is a public figure, in addition to the conditions of the case which “does not fulfil the conditions of a fair trial ”.

He confirmed that his party plans to internationalize the case, emphasising that “the arrest was based on an examination including material and moral fraud”.

Elloumi added that the recent meeting which brought together a delegation from the bloc of his party and the wife of Nabil Karoui, with the general secretary of the Tunisian general labor union (UGTT), Noureddine Tabboubi, was at the request of Qalb Tounes in order to present the case.

“It was Nabil Karoui himself who asked us to meet, first of all, the officials of the UGTT,” he notes.
