Tunisia-Nadia Akacha to MPs: President of the republic is not accountable to Parliament

Head of the presidential cabinet, Nadia Akacha asserted to MPs of the House of people representatives that today session is not an accountability one.

During her intervention, Mrs Akacha stressed that the meeting falls under the framework to examine the presidential budget for 2021.

She likewise confirmed that the President of the Republic is publicly elected by the people and that he is not accountable to Parliament according to the 2014 constitution adding that he is responsible solely to the people who elected him.
