Tunisia-National army intervenes by air to extinguish a forest fire in Ghardimaou

A powerful fire broke out on the evening of Tuesday, July 28, 2020, in the forests of Ghardimaou. The vigour of the fires pushed units of the National Army had to intervene to support the effort of the Civil Protection. Defence ministry spokesman Mohamed Zekri said in a statement to TAP.
In this context, the Army deployed a C130 type aircraft designed to fight the flames. “It is a question of supporting the Civil Protection and the Guardians of the forest,” said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense. To date, 70 hectares of forests have been devoured by fire in this blaze.
