Tunisia-National Salvation Front denounces a “kidnapping” of Hamadi Jebali

The National Salvation Front issued a press release on Friday, June 24, 2022, cautioning against the manoeuvres of the State to bend justice. According to this group opposed to the July initiative of the President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed, the latter leans to create “judicial corridors to reach his political opponents”, after the failure of his first try with the publication of decree 35 relating to the dismissal of 57 judges.

The National Salvation Front was responding, in fact, to the detention of the former prime minister Hamadi Jebali.

Voicing its support for Jebali, the National Salvation Front condemned the campaigns led by the Ministry of the Interior and accused it of having taken control of justice. It likewise pointed out that the arrest of Hamadi Jebali was more akin to a “kidnapping”, remembering the absence of a judicial decision on this subject.
