Speaking at a press conference, the National Salvation Front announced the boycott of the local elections planned for December 24.
The Front leader Ahmed Najib Chebbi, considered that these elections were taking place in an unsuitable political environment and legal framework, calling on the active forces in the country to boycott them.
He likewise called for the abolition of the legal framework enacted unilaterally by the President of the republic Kais Saied, emphasising that the Front believes that there is no solution except national dialogue.
He underscored that the local elections would be an additional disappointment for the political authority, and would make matters worse.
Najib Chebbi also talked about the need of organizing early legislative and presidential elections that restore constitutional legitimacy and political stability
