Tunisia-Nissaf Ben Alaya calls Tunisians for vigilance amid rising number of imported COVDI-19 cases

Speaking to the TAP, Director-General of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases Nissaf Ben Alaya affirmed that the climbing number of imported cases of COVID-19 infection reveals the threats that this pandemic still has, emphasising the necessity to stay vigilant and careful.

The 39 imported positive cases reported on Sunday, July 12 are from areas classified as red,  Although they tested negative for COVID-19 upon arrival in Tunisia, their tests came out positive after a 7-day quarantine period, she told the news outlet.

All virus-carriers were isolated in special centres, Ben Alaya pointed out, adding that the current situation is under control.

She called on Tunisian citizens to take all necessary measures and comply with security and prevention protocols against the spread of the coronavirus.
