Director-General of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases Nissaf Ben Alaya told journalists during her participation in the regional health council in Kairouan that the epidemiological situation in the region has become alarming.
She added that it is necessary to strictly respect preventive measures in order to avoid reaching a catastrophic situation.
Ben Alaya invited the inhabitants of Kairouan to wear the protective mask and respect the principle of social distancing.
