Tunisia – Noureddine Boutar kept in police custody for an additional five days

Lawyer for the National Union of Tunisian Journalists, Ayoub Ghedamsi, confirmed that the prosecution of the Tunis court of first instance decided to refer FM director general before the financial judicial pole, still without retaining the slightest of charge.

Ghedamsi clarified that this transfer of file permitted the Pôle prosecution to order the extension of the five -day custody.

Ayoub Ghedamsi assured that in El Gorgeni, Noureddine Boutar was only questioned on the editorial line of Mosaîque FM, as well as on purely professional data, such as the criteria for the recruitment of reporters and columnists. Ghedamsi added that this is a dangerous precedent that impacts media independence.
