Tunisia- Noureddine Taboubi calls on critics of technocratic government to defer to the people

Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Noureddine Taboubi asserted that the union has not appointed a head of government nor does not have a political party or parliamentary bloc to vote for the government, assuring, however, that “whoever rejects a government of technocrats must return the trust to its owners, to the Tunisian people and have the courage to do so”.

Taboubi stressed that the Tunisian people will decide whether they will restore their confidence to these parties, adding: “What is important is that the country does not remain in a state of marginal quarrels, tensions and conflicts which are unnecessary. ”.

At the regular congress of the Regional Labor Union in Sousse, Taboubi added that politicians have confidence in the state which they must endure, especially with the deterioration of economic and social conditions.

The general secretary of the union indicated that the real battle today is the development and the burning issues, including unemployment and poverty indicators which have reached their limits, especially since these indicators have very serious repercussions and that the country has slipped into very dangerous slippages.

Taboubi recognized the need to establish a government that bridges the gap and saves economic, social and financial conditions.
