Tunisia-Omicron variant: 3 “possible” cases detected in Zarzis

3 “possible” infections with the new Omicron variant have been detected in Zarzis, according to the director of the Zarzis regional hospital, Abdelkader Taghouti.

The infected people are of Chinese nationality, according to the same source. Abdelkader Taghouti said that the 3 Chinese nationals were from Nigeria, saying they have been placed in solitary quarantine.

Sequencing is underway to confirm the information, the director of the Zarzis hospital said.
