Tunisia- organ trafficking has been uncovered, and the network is international

The National Unit for Research into Terrorist Crimes and Organized Crimes has exposed, thanks to reliable information, major organ trafficking with ramifications abroad. The network worked on Facebook to organize this sinister business between sellers and buyers, and the sums at stake are massive, reports Mosaïque FM this Saturday, October 28.

Investigators and the public prosecutor’s office pooled their efforts to identify one of the masterminds of the gang, who was the liaison between Tunisian traffickers and a foreigner in charge of conducting negotiations on prices and the amount of commissions. Following inquiries, the police, with the approval of the judicial authorities, managed to catch three alleged members of the group. They acknowledged the facts…

They confessed to having approached Tunisians who desired to market their transplantable organs; they went through sites and social networks, with intermediaries in Tunisia and elsewhere. The unfortunate people are sent abroad to undergo the required analyses and medical examinations, before haggling over prices set according to the importance of the organ.
