Grand Mufti of Tunisia Othman Battikh denied firmly in a statement published on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, summoning to vote in a personal inclination of one of the nominees in the second round of the presidential election.
Battikh relied on that the grand mufti’s principal missions are centrally religious and have nothing to do with politics. He further affirmed that the Mufti of the Republic compels to be neutral and enjoys the mutual trust and confidence of people.
Battikh positively asserted that official statements and declarations are only issued through The Tunisian Fatwa House.
