Tunisia-Oussama Khlifi:New amendment to be added to decree 116

President of Qalb Tounes parliamentary bloc Oussema Khlifi announced that new amendments will be added to legislative decree number 116 and presented at today plenary session. The move comes with an agreement with the party initiating the draft law to revise Decree 116, Al Karama Coalition.

According to the new amendment, the president of the commission will be elected by the members of the commission’s board, in addition to an amendment to the composition of the body, provided that members of the journalists ’union and the media union are elected representatives in the body by Parliament, after their proposal from the concerned structures.

A new amendment will also be proposed related to the specifications and licenses that will be kept for media organizations that enjoy TNT services, and the media that broadcasts via satellite is excluded from the terms of reference or license.
He stressed that the proposed revisions in the draft law to revise Decree 116 will receive parliamentary approval and the bill will pass.
