With the approach of the new academic year, only 50 thousand out of 230 students have registered their enrollment in the online registration system, said Amira Guermazi special advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research .
In an official statement to the TAP agency, Guermazi revealed that most of the enrolled students to date are properly registered in the faculties of medicine, pharmacy and engineering.
In reply to official complaints about student inability to properly complete their necessary registration due to the unavailability of the official website dedicated to the process. Guermazi stated the process of online registration continues normally, she amply justified the slow process of proper registration due to using the electronic payment card.
Guermazi said that the ministry project to use “e-dinar Jeune” is aimed to digitalize students transactions and carefully secure their official data. Guermazi further disclosed that students are compelled to open a private account on their university registration website, enter the password and verify their registration through their e-mails.
The modern card, which costs 13 dinars, allows students to pay accommodation and online registration fees as well as extraction of funded grants and loans distributed for their interest.
Additionally, the card is handled by students for the payment of food and beverage costs at eight university restaurants located in the Cape Bon, Central and South governorates.
