Tunisia-Parliamentary assistants request clarification of their legal situation

Parliamentary assistants today issued a distress call to President Kais Saied concerning the halt of their wages since July 25, 2021, and the termination of their contracts since October 22, without prior warning.

Amal Kacem, parliamentary assistant of Qalb Tounes Bloc asked for clarifications concerning the legal situation of these 29 assistants, who are now stripped of their salaries (between 800 and 1500 dinars per month).

It should be remarked at this level that the function of parliamentary assistant was introduced into the Tunisian system in 2014 through a text giving each deputy the right to recruit 3 assistants.
