Tunisia – Parties put pressure on Sousse governor to overturn lockdown decision

Close Sources told Jawhara FM that the governor of Sousse, Ms Raja Trabelsi, has been under tremendous pressure since yesterday, from regional representatives of UTICA, as well as from some MPs of the region, to push her to reverse the decision to establish a general lockdown throughout the governorate.

The regional secretary general of UTICA is stated to have even threatened the governor by assuring her that if it ever instituted a lockdown, he could not ensure that the traders did not revolt.
