Tunisia – Pharmacies have drug stocks for a maximum of three days

The secretary general of the union of pharmacists officers, Touraya Ennaifer, confirmed that the pharmacies only have stocks on their shelves for a maximum of three days. This stock can decrease to a day of consumption, particularly in rural areas.

The termination of the activity of distributors who began today will consequently affect the availability of drugs in pharmacies from the middle of this week, and Tunisians will stay without drugs, especially Those who take long-term treatments.

Ennaifer called on the Ministry of Finance to examine its position and to grant the exemption from the deduction at source to these wholesalers, as it has done since 2006. She clarified that the benefit margin of the wholesale distributors did not reach not the rate of the tax to be taken.
