Prime minister Hichem Mechichi met today with the Governor of the Central Bank, Marouane Abbassi in the attendance of the Minister of Economy Ali Kooli at Kasbah.
The meeting concentrated on the economic and financial situation in Tunisia as well as on the significance of the approval of the law on economic recovery and the settlement of foreign exchange offences, especially in the context of such a critical health situation, to curb the economic and social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Mechichi emphasised the necessity to speed up the preparation of the complementary finance law. He inquired about the state of discussions with the IMF saying the government is set to continue its efforts to restore the economy.
