Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi received today, Friday, April 23, 2021, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tunis, Peter Bruegel at Kasbah governmental palace.
During the meeting, Mr Mechichi talked about the distinguished and historic character of the cooperation relationships between Tunisia and Germany.
He further stressed that Tunisia is working to simplify procedures relating to investors, in parallel with the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on the national economy.
For his part, the German ambassador related to the agreement to be signed between the International Monetary Fund and Tunisia, indicating that this step will open up new horizons, in particular with financial institutions and international donors.
He further emphasised that his nation will continue to support economic reformations and the government’s efforts to complete the course of democratic transition, by funding bilateral cooperation programs.
The German ambassador hailed the Tunisian skills in Germany and abroad, remarking that despite the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, the way has been opened for Tunisians in the field of digitization and communication technologies, making Tunisia a bridge between Africa and European countries.
The two officials similarly discussed ways to reinvent the role of chambers of commerce as well as intensifying meetings between investors from the two countries.
