Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi met Tuesday with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi and Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support Ali Kooli.
The meeting took place in the runup to talks next May in Washington D.C between Tunisia’s government, on the one hand, and the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank – the country’s main donors- on the other.
This meeting aims to increase coordination between the Prime Ministry and the two departments before the meeting set for early May in the US to outline a reform programme.
Kooli said the planned visit is intended to convince the IMF and the World Bank of the need to underpin Tunisia’s economic reform programme and enhance relations with the USA in a wide range of fields, the Prime Ministry said.
