Tunisia – Postponement of Anas Al Hammadi’s hearing

The interrogation of the president of the Tunisian Association of Magistrates, Anas Al-Hammadi, was reportedly delayed. Yousry Al-Hawami, the first assistant to the public prosecutor at the court of first instance of the CAF and its spokesperson, noted that the investigating judge decided to postpone the case until April 19, 2024, while denying formal requests presented by the defence team.

To recall, Anas Al-Hammadi was planning to appear before the investigating judge of the CAF court of first instance, facing accusations of “obstruction of freedom of work” during the judges’ strike in June 2022, which took place following the dismissal of 57 judges.
