Tunisia-President Kais Saied talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier

President Kais Saied made a phone convesration with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

During the call, the Head of State applauded the recent German action to build an international alliance to confront the global Coronavirus pandemic, as it adheres with the project that Tunisia will present to the UN Security Council, given that today challenges required consolidated united nations. Additionally, international peace and security should not be confined to armed conflicts, as was habitual in the past, reads a statement of the presidency.

On his part,Steinmeier communicated his support for the Tunisian initiative in order for this alliance to have a legal basis. He also formulated the requirement to envision new mechanisms as the lockdown cannot continue without interruption.

Both counterparts affirmed that scientific and laboratory research should be a solution for all humanity without segregation nor discrimination.
