Tunisia-President Saïed calls on merchants to reduce prices

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied welcomed today July 28, 2021, Head of UTICA Samir Majoul at Carthage presidential palace.

He further recalled the businessmen involved in the looted money to convert it into projects in the poorest regions of the country. According to official reports, 460 businessmen are affected. They were to return the people 13,500 million dinars.
“Personally, I called for conciliation with them. The money needs to return to the people and a decree will be issued shortly on this matter. Each person concerned must join in the realization of projects. They must take charge of projects in the delegations most affected by social and economic disparities. In this way, they will avoid prosecution and jail”, he said.

He likewise called for an immediate resumption of phosphate production. The blockage in the production and transportation of phosphate needs to be stopped. “Tunisia merits better and we must oppose individuals who desire to take advantage of the chaos for profit”, he affirmed.
Mr Saïed also said at the end of his speech that he is not afraid of anyone however that he does not want anyone to suffer injustice.
