Tunisia-Rached Ghannouchi: “Calls to dissolve Parliament aim to destabilize the country”

House speaker ached Ghannouchi addressed the issue of the of confidence from him and the dissolution of the house of People’s Representatives.

Ennahdha leader said that calls to dissolve the parliament are directed at creating instability in the country, confusing state institutions and disrupting the interests of citizens.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Rached Ghannouchi stated that these are parties attempting to apply local and regional agendas to interrupt the democratic transition in Tunisia and to hinder a unique experience.

He added that provocation campaigns in suspicious foreign media reporting on protests in Tunisia are additional proof of the sabotage plans facing the Tunisian experience.

As for appeals to overthrow the government or withdraw the confidence of the Speaker, Ghannouchi ensured that these are issues that are regulated by the Constitution and the internal regulations of the parliament. Further, they are determined by procedures and specific arrangements which must be observed.
