Tunisia-Rached Ghanouchi welcomes French parliamentary delegation

Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) and Ennahdha party leader Rached Ghannouchi hospitably welcomed a French parliamentary commission comprised of Deputy-President of the National Defence and Armed Forces Committee and member of the Social Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Joaquim Pueyo and Caroline Janvier, respectively at Bardo palace.The official meeting was also attended by French ambassador in Tunisia Olivier Poivre D’arvor.

During the meeting, house speaker Ghannouchi justly praised the close-knit partnership properly established between Tunisia and France in various fields relating to the reciprocal visits which reveal the two countries’ determination to promote cooperation.
He further hailed France’s key role in adequately supporting Tunisia’s democratic transition, as he encouraged nourishing these bilateral relations by sharing experiences and expertise, especially at the economic, cultural and security levels.He also asked for strengthening partnership in the domains of youth, vocational training and higher education, pointing out to the notable number of Tunisian students in France.
On their part, the French delegation called for developing bilateral cooperation in several fields, particularly in diplomacy, trade, tourism, youth, higher education and vocational training.
