Tunisia-Saïed: Fighting speculation and rising prices is a priority

President of the Republic Kais Saied affirmed, this Wednesday, during his meeting with Taoufik Charfeddine, Minister of the Interior and Fadhila Rebhi Hamza, Minister of Trade and Export Development that priority must be given to the battle speculation and rising prices. “There are those who desire to attack the purchasing power of citizens. The Minister of Commerce is called upon to take the needed measures and resort to all means. You have rules and texts likely to put an end to speculation and rising prices … I also call on judges to play their role to fight those who continue to break the dignity of citizens and whose goal is to impose their law, through pressure groups. We need to put an ending to their actions, “he said.

“The Minister of Commerce has laws which enable prices to be fixed,” added the head of state. In addition, Mr Kais called to give back to the State its aura and to stop the robbers. “I likewise urge local authorities to assume their role and if the laws that have been set in place do not allow them to be held accountable, in the event of overruns, this is not a reason, either, to arrogate the right to create a state within a state. And what is occurring in some regions where household waste is piling up in the streets, falls into the category of abuses perpetrated against our citizens.

The laws make it plausible to put an end to this chaotic situation “, he noted. In another context, the President of the Republic indicated that all the files will be unlocked and that there will be no exceptions, declaring that “the criminals will all be prosecuted. The people will not pardon them. Their fortune and their knowledge will be of no use “.
