President of the Republic, Kais Saied, convened a meeting on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Carthage Palace, with key figures including Ali Murabit, Minister of Health, Mustafa Ferjani, Minister Advisor to the President of the Republic, and Abdellatif Chabou, President of the Tunisian Red Crescent.
The focus of the meeting was on the procedures for Tunisia to promptly welcome a number of injured victims of the recent Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. This coordinated effort involves various sectors, including the Ministry of National Defense, Foreign Affairs, Immigration, Tunisians abroad, health, transportation, and the Tunisian Red Crescent.
The injured Palestinians will be received in both public and private hospital institutions, with the latter expressing their willingness to participate in this humanitarian duty, along with support from pharmacists and doctors.
President Saied emphasized that hosting the Palestinian victims aligns with the desires of the Tunisian people, highlighting that solidarity goes beyond mere statements to tangible actions. He recommended the continuation of the aid airlift from the Tunisian people to Palestine through the Tunisian Red Crescent.
