The President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, announced, this Wednesday, March 30, 2022, during his meeting at Carthage Palace, with prime minister Najla Bouden, that the attempt to divide the country made by MPs is a plot against the internal security of the State.
“I have just talked with the Minister of Justice to request the public prosecutor to take the required and adequate measures. The State is made up of institutions and those who organized this meeting do not desire to wait for the people to have their say. In addition, this meeting is covered by foreign channels through satellites and social networks. What they are doing and what they will attempt to do has no legal value. All their decisions have no weight… We will assume our accountability to save the nation against these plots… They often play the role of the victims when they are against freedoms and rights. Today we must safeguard our country from divisions because there is only one State. What has just occurred today cannot go unnoticed and we will respond by respecting the law in the face of the crime of conspiracy against the internal security of the State”, said the head of the state.
