Deputy Secretary-General of the UGTT, Sami Tahri talked yesterday in a live video regarding the summons of the President of the HAICA, Nouri Lejmi to appear before the investigation unit of the guard of Zaghouan, following a charge lodged by Said Jaziri, owner of radio “Quran Al-Karim”.
The latter accused the president of the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) of robbery and attempted murder after the seizure of the broadcasting equipment of the radio, which broadcasts without a license, on March 17.
Sami Tahri further criticized this summons, emphasising that the accusations addressed to Nouri Lejmi are “ridiculous”. This is even evidence that there are parties backed by lobbies that remain all-powerful in decision-making in such matters, he said.
He added that no nation can make a successful democratic transition by flouting the law.
The secretary-general has also said that what is occurring is a kind of violation of freedoms emphasizing that religious affairs are the sole responsibility of the state
