Tunisia-Sami Tahri: Parliament cannot be the space to embrace the dialogue, since it is the root of the problem

Speaking to Mosaique FM, Deputy Secretary-General of the UGTT, Sami Tahri affirmed that the crisis in the nation is essentially political, maintaining that the Parliament cannot be the space to embrace the dialogue, since it is the root of the problem.

Tahri announced that the UGTT secretary-general  Noureddine Taboubi, today met the President of the Republic, at his invitation, to address the general situation in the country and the current crisis especially in relation to the cabinet reshuffle.

“We advocated the delay of the cabinet reshuffle and its passage before Parliament, but there was a reckless rush. Today, the UGTT cannot play any mediating role since, whatever the direction of its intervention, it will be seen as a form of pressure “.

Sami Tahri also asked for not instrumentalizing the security apparatus and not exploiting it for partisan ends.
