Tunisia-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Salma Enneifer talks with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale

The “friendship and partnership relationships between Tunisia and the United States of America and approaches to extend the cooperation between the two countries” were the central topics of a telephone conversation between Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Salma Enneifer and the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, David Hale .

The secretary of state stressed the powerful friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the US Under Secretary of State communicated his country’s devotion to “support Tunisia to achieve its successful democratic process and address socio-economic challenges, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

The telephone conversation also made it possible to consider the efforts made by the two countries to contain the coronavirus pandemic and reduce its repercussions.

Enneifer manifested Tunisia’s solidarity with the United States which has recorded tens of thousands of deaths from the coronavirus.

Moreover, both parties stressed the importance of stepping up consultations between the two countries on issues submitted to the Security Council and, in particular, the draft resolution presented by Tunisia, as a concrete expression of the initiative launched by the US to combat coronavirus.
