Following a check on the passengers and crew of the vessel Carthage arriving in Tunisia from the port of Genoa, the customs services of the port of La Goulette succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 10 plates of cannabis weighing approximately one kilogram.
In a statement, the general direction of the Tunisian customs specified that an agent of the office suspected at the level of the passenger inspection room, a naval agent for his murky behaviour, and after a careful inspection, the narcotic was found under the folds of his underwear.
Further investigation after coordination with the naval unit services of the customs office was carried out and with the search of the cabin of the suspect on board the vessel, no other suspicious goods were found.
A report of the seizure was drawn up for this purpose and the relevant security services undertook to complete the investigation into the case.
