Tunisia – Sfax: fire breaks out near abandoned synagogue

A fire broke out on the evening of Sunday, February 25, 2024, close to an abandoned synagogue in Sfax, triggered by the combustion of dry grass. The fire extended to 11 palm trees, as reported by Brigadier General Hatem Boubacar, the regional head of Civil Protection in Sfax. Two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to fight the fire and douse the flames. Fortunately, there were no human or material losses reported at the abandoned synagogue.
