The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) declared in its latest report that the number of journalists that are victims of physical aggression, declined sharply in August 2022 compared to July of the same year, dropping from 48 to 15.
“The assaults were perpetrated against 28 journalists (14 men and 14 women) working in 15 public and private media”, specifies the same source.
The SNJT noted eight radio stations, two television channels, two electronic sites and three press agencies.
In this report posted on the SNJT page, the Monitoring Unit condemns the continued attacks on journalists, warning of greater violence on the web and social networks.
The attacks were perpetrated mostly in Tunis (8 cases), Kairouan (3), Gabès (1), Sfax (1), Sousse (1) and Médenine (1).
