Tunisia-SNJT Member Aïda Hichri -All scenarios and peace escalations are open (Audio)

Speaking to Tunisie Numerique, Member of the Executive Office of the Journalists Syndicate Aïda Hichri expressed the SNJT’s refusal of what occurring concerning the case of the arrested journalists, noting they are not above the law nonetheless they request the judiciary to respect judicial procedures and apply decrees regulating the sector, especially 115 and 116.

She states that what is occurring are indicators that threaten the journalism sector, reminding us of the case of journalist Zied El Hanni, noting that the latter could have been tried while in a state of freedom. Our speaker also sheds light on the case of Khalifa Kassemi who was sentenced to five years based on the anti-terrorism law in an unprecedented case. She further referred to the case of journalist Chada Mabrouk, calling for a fair trial.

Reminding of the arrest of Al Jazeera journalist  Samir Sassi, she noted that this was not a good indicator of the reality of freedom in Tunisia. She recalled that all scenarios and peace escalations  are open
