Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, head of the emergency department of the Farhat Hached university hospital, Zied Mezguar affirmed that Covid-19 patients have been transported to Tina military hospital in Sfax and the military field hospital in Kairouan due to the shortage of resuscitation and oxygen beds at Farhat Hached hospital.
He described the situation as critical given that the hospital is currently under large pressure particularly in terms of the capacity of the Covid unit, which has reached 300%. In addition, he said the facility suffers from a serious lack of human resources.
