Tunisia-Spread of coronavirus: Tozeur, Gabes and Sfax, the most affected governorates

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Nissaf Ben Alaya affirmed that the level of risk is extremely high in the various governorates, crediting the rapid spread of the infection to the non-compliance with preventive measures and health protocols.

In terms of infection rate, the governorate of Tozeur is ranked first, while Gabes ranked second followed by Sfax, she announced.

Speaking to Diwan FM, Ben Alaya added that 18 governorates have a daily rate of contamination surpassing 100 cases per 100.000 citizens.

Note that according to the daily bulletin on the pandemic situation published by the Ministry of Health,2,820 new cases were reported as of January 5, 2021.

The number of deaths has meanwhile grown to 5,004 after the registration of 70 new deaths.
