The president of the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT), Mohamed Yassine Jelassi, stated that most public media took part in the general strike, emphasising that the latter was successful from the first hours of its launch. According to him, the rate of participation in the strike has never been documented before. Jelassi added, this Saturday, April 2, 2022, on Diwan FM, that the absence of a reaction from the government has led to the decline of the situation. Escalation is certainly not to be ruled out, he says, adding that the option of a national protest movement will be weighed in case the government side does not respond.
