Tunisia – Suspicious death of Dr Jed Henchiri… prosecution orders investigation

The Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Sfax 1 ordered an investigation into the circumstances of the death of Dr. Jed Henchiri, discovered dead inside an apartment in the centre of Sfax, by the Article 31 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, public prosecutor at the court, Hichem Ben Ayed, reported today, Saturday.
Ben Ayed revealed that the investigating judge designated a delegation to the Judicial Police Division in Sfax to carry out the required investigations.
The public prosecutor stated that the body of the deceased did not show apparent signs of violence, indicating that it had been transferred to the medical examiner, where it was to be autopsied today and toxicological or microscopic analyses should be carried out if necessary.
The departed was the former president of the Young Doctors Organization and was known for his powerful defence of the medical sector and his harsh criticism of its situation.
