Former dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tunis and Professor of Linguistics Tahar Labassi has passed away.
He occupied several administrative positions as chair of the department of English, dean of the faculty, and chief of the cabinet of the Minister of Higher Education.
Labassi was awarded the Morley Scholarship for research in Applied Linguistics by the University of Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, and Attachment Scholarships by the University of Reading, UK.
