Tunisia- Tahya Tounes calls for targeted lockdown

Tahya Tounes expressed its profound concern at the surge in infection cases that the country has observed in recent days due to the new UK variant.

The party emphasised the necessity to return to the application of barrier gestures and called for mobilization in the face of this health emergency which entails the union of the efforts of all citizens to face the pandemic. It additionally stressed the significance of strengthening sanctions against offenders and stepping up awareness campaigns. It also called to impose a targeted lockdown with activation of monitoring.

Tahya Tounes also felt that it is now becoming imperative to step up the pace of vaccination campaigns and enhance the process of early detection of the virus given the high occupancy percentage of intensive care and oxygen beds.
