The defendants implicated in the case of the murder of Mabrouk Soltani have been condemned to death by hanging since January 2019, Deputy Public Prosecutor and Spokesperson for the First Instance Court of Tunis Mohsen Dali told the TAP.
Dali reacted to some to posts shared on social media indicating one of the accused (Khaireddine Barhoumi) was given a 10-year prison sentence in the murder of the two Soltani brothers.
Talking to the TAP, the Deputy Public Prosecutor said the recent verdict issued against terrorist Khaireddine Barhoumi was for his involvement in a terrorist organisation rather than for a murder crime.
“All terrorists involved in the assassination of the two brothers Mabrouk and Khalifa Soltani were sentenced to death in January 2019.
None of them received a 10-year prison sentence,” he emphasised.
