Tunisia-The national system against smuggling smartphones soon to be operational

It is a national system directed at abolishing the sale of smuggled mobile phones and tablets from parallel markets, as well as the robbery of this electronic device.

Made up of a central database for registering the unique identifiers of mobile phones and tablets, this system will come into service from January 1, 2021. This is what the Director-General of the Research Center. and studies in telecommunications, Naoufel Ben Said.

This national centralized system (CEIR-N) named “Sajalni” will further aim to preserve public networks against interference that can be caused by the use of non-compliant telephones and to ensure a good quality of service to users.

The Director-General of CERT, indicated to this effect that this system will allow the registration of mobile phones operated by the various operators (nearly 14 million subscribers).

In Tunisia, 60% of mobile telephones entered Tunisia through an unknown circuit. These devices have not been subjected to control and approval according to the usual procedures.
