The appointed head of government, Hichem Mechichi announced on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at the opening of the plenary session devoted to the vote of confidence for his government, the priorities will be following:
- The protection of the deprived class especially in the context of the health crisis due to the coronavirus
- The fight against poverty
- Improving the economic situation by targeting loopholes
- Preserving the purchasing power of citizens and maintaining the subsidy system
- Improving the investment climate and developing infrastructure
- Reform of the administration and the public sector
- The fight against tax fraud
- Respect for the payment of credits
- The development of a collaboration between the private and state sector (education/health)
- Improving the purchasing power of Tunisians
- The fight against smuggling
