The General Mines Union has decided to go on total strike on Monday 27, Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 January 2025, on all sites under the jurisdiction of the Gafsa Phosphate Company, if their demands are not met and respected.
The federation issued a warning telegram to the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, the Minister of Social Affairs, the Secretary General of the Government, the Director General of the Labor and Reconciliation Inspection and the Gafsa Phosphate Company.
It should be noted that the workers of the Gafsa Phosphate Company held a general strike on Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26, to demand the disbursement of the productivity bonus for 2023 and the payment of the 2019 productivity bonus, in addition to supplying the work uniforms in force since 2022, as well as some other demands, the most important of which is the integration of wage increases into the basic salary.
