The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines announced it is examining the probability of electricity tariffs in the following period following the notable jump in the price of a barrel of oil on international markets to average $ 70.
The director general of electricity and energy transition at the ministry, Belhassen Chiboub told the TAP agency, that the government intends to introduce an adjustment of the electricity tariff in Tunisia in the period to come, revealing that the 2021 state budget has been prepared and approved on an assumption of $ 45 per barrel ”.
He called on Tunisians to accept electricity tariff adjustments which he stated will neither be expensive nor very high
