Tunisia-Travel vlogger slams Tunisair claims following a video review on the Flag carrier

The video posted on the Youtube social network by the German content creator, Josh Cahill, proceeds to create controversy and continues to be widely shared on social networks, not only by the usual audience of the YouTuber but also by thousands of Tunisians who considered that Josh Cahill only revealed a bitter reality that no one could doubt. It should be recalled that in this 22-minute video, the YouTuber shared his unpleasant experience at Tunis Carthage International Airport and onboard the Airbus A330 aircraft of the national airline Tunisair.

Speaking to Mosaique FM, Sami Blidi, central director of communication at Tunisair spoke about the content of this video which had been filmed in exceptional conditions due to the spread of the new coronavirus Covid-19, which explains, according to him, the unavailability of certain services at the airport and onboard.

Regarding the absence of staff at the AVS Airport VIP Services Lounge and the presence of cigarette butts and waste on the table, Sami Blidi explained that Business Class passengers are only allowed to access said Lounge for two hours. before the flight, while the Youtuber went to the lounge in question half an hour before its effective opening (5 hours), i.e. before the completion of the cleaning and disinfection operation. “The officer on duty did not ensure that the lounge door was locked before leaving the premises, that is the only mistake he made and he must fully assume his responsibility. For our part, we will take the necessary measures to prevent this from happening again, “he said.

As for on-board services, the manager explained that due to the exceptional health situation, services were reduced to minimize the risk of contamination. “Moreover, the YouTuber was the first to have violated preventive health measures by walking at the airport without a mask … He did not have to walk on board the device either” he noted. .
Sami Blidi considered the dish that was served to Cahill okay as it was just breakfast, not lunch, he said.
Regarding Tunisair’s willingness to correct the shooting with respect to the Youtubeur, the official assured that the national carrier does not have to apologize or correct the situation. “We do not have to apologize and put things right, we did not make a mistake to correct it, we only applied the sanitary measures to the letter” he assured.

On his part, Josh Cahill took on Instagram and slammed the allegation denying Blidi counterclaims.

Cahill said  he received thousands of thank-you messages for having exposed the corruption problems within the Tunisair airline.
The Instagrammer has, in this sense, affirmed that he cannot comment on these “corruption problems” since he does not know enough about the airline company, stressing all the same, that what he lived during his flight was shocking.

The influencer added that, contrary to what was relayed by a Tunisair representative, he went to the AVS Airport VIP Services Lounge around 5:30 am where he found a lot of dirt. With that in mind, Cahill said the staff had no issues with him filming, adding that by law he was wearing his mask.

“A representative of Tunisair claimed this morning on @mosaiquefmofficiel that I went to the lounge before it was opened at 5am. This is wrong, I entered the lounge at 5:15AM in the morning and it was deserted and filthy”,he said “.I did also wear my mask whenever it was required following the guidelines of the airline. As you can see in the video”,he added.

Still, according to Instagram status, the influencer clarified that his flight took place on July 27 and not on the 9 of the same month as the airline official had said.

In conclusion, he said he believes Tunisair needs to make radical changes. “Tunisia 🇹🇳 is a beautiful country and it surely deserve a beautiful flag carrier!” he said
